What is the Nursing service?
The Nursing service provides essential care to patients, families, and/or caregivers, allowing for the monitoring of overall health and the promotion of physical and mental well-being. This care is provided by a nurse with specific technical skills in various specialized areas.

Nursing care
The care provided by the Nursing service ranges from vital signs assessment to vaccine administration and wound treatment. Additionally, it includes medication administration, particularly intravenous, and the placement of catheters, drains, and peripheral vein catheterization.
It is the responsibility of the nursing team to assess each case, monitor it and ensure medical referral, if applicable. The JCS Group offers different treatments for wounds, such as collagen dressings and negative pressure dressings. There is also a Home Nursing service, which allows clients to receive health care comfortably at home, as requested and according to medical prescription, if applicable.
Diagnostic tests and treatments
Nurses are present during various procedures, such as laser therapies, biopsies, removal of skin lesions, obstetric ultrasounds, diagnostic urological procedures, among others.
The presence of a multidisciplinary team, including Nursing, aims to ensure the highest safety, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the procedures performed. For example, in Gastroenterology, the nursing team accompanies the client throughout the entire process, from the appointment, through the nursing consultation before the exam, reception and follow-up on the day of the exam, as well as monitoring after the exam in the following 48 hours. This guarantees the quality and safety of the procedure.

The Nursing team is available to provide support to individuals of all ages who seek their services. They offer assessments, follow-ups, and clarification of doubts during various stages of life and health conditions. The involvement of a multidisciplinary team (physicians, nurses, among others) is an essential factor for improving quality of life.
Support to the Surgical Service
The Nursing team participates in the entire surgical process. When a surgical proposal is initiated, the first contact is made with the Nursing team to provide all relevant information for the surgical process. This moment is also important for establishing a relationship of trust and empathy.
On the day of surgery, the welcoming is always performed by the Nursing team, who initiates all the interventions inherent to the surgical circuit. Moreover, at the time of discharge, these professionals provide guidance and support regarding post-operative care for effective recovery. Finally, the team accompanies the patient for up to 30 days after discharge to ensure that the entire postoperative process proceeds as expected.
Support to Obstetrics and Gynecology
The Nursing team is present during Obstetrics consultations to assess vital signs and analyze laboratory parameters. In later stages, specialized nurses perform cardiotocography (CTG) - an examination that assesses uterine contractility, fetal movements, and heart rate, determining whether the pregnant woman is in labor and the fetal well-being. They also administer vaccines and provide advice to expectant parents.
