Urology is the medical specialty that diagnoses and treats diseases affecting the urinary system in men and women—which includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra—and the male reproductive system (such as the prostate, testicles, and penis).
Urogynecology is a medical subspecialty that also treats disorders related to the female pelvic floor (such as urogenital prolapse). Pediatric urology deals with congenital malformations and other diseases of the urinary system in children.
The urologist is the specialist in kidneys and bladder, responsible for treating urinary tract infections, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and prostate diseases, among other conditions.
