Neuroradiology

Monitors with images of the central nervous system

Neuroradiology uses imaging techniques to evaluate, diagnose, and treat diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS), spinal cord, head, and neck. Some of the pathologies diagnosed and treated by this specialty are CNS and PNS tumours, vascular malformations (such as aneurysms) and cerebrovascular accidents, both ischemic and haemorrhagic.

Neuroradiology allows obtaining high-resolution images to exclude or confirm clinical suspicions or for possible therapeutic guidance of the pathology in question.

This specialty has diagnostic and interventional aspects, the latter of which is used to guide minimally invasive procedures, such as the treatment of vascular diseases and different spinal pathologies. In this way, the need for surgeries in delicate areas of the body is reduced and the patient can recover more quickly and comfortably.

Given the clinical complexity of Neuroradiology, Joaquim Chaves Saúde has a specialised and prestigious medical staff, supported by state-of-the-art technology, in a comfortable environment.
