Clinical chemistry, endocrinology, hematology and immunohematology analysis stand out among the various clinical and functional analyzes carried out in this center. Another focus of the Core Laboratorial is the serology of infectious diseases, such as HPV, Hepatitis B and C, Cytomegalovirus, Toxoplasmosis, Herpes Virus, Zika, Chikungunya and Dengue.

The team in this laboratory also monitors the effectiveness of drugs and develops research related to psychoactive substances and addictions. Our Core Laboratory is thus a center of excellence at a national level, capable of the most complex, diversified and demanding exams, with experienced professionals and state-of-the-art equipment.

Our laboratory performs a range of immune system exams through highly sensitive and specific antibodies and antigens analysis. This study is especially important for diagnosing autoimmune diseases, allergies and monitoring the effectiveness of immunotherapy treatments.

Medical Genetics (and Cytogenetics) is crucial for the prevention and diagnosis of hereditary diseases. This service is mostly sought after by pregnant women, for clarification and advice on questions related to fetal anomalies, as well as by couples who fear they may transmit a genetic condition on to their children. The Medical Genetics service also covers children or adults with chromosomal mutations, hereditary diseases, learning disabilities or malformations, as well as hereditary cancer syndromes.
