Azores has a new Joaquim Chaves Saúde Group Radiation Oncology Unit

The Group’s second Oncology Unit in the Azores Region is the 7th at a national level and is created thinking of the comfort and proximity of the Central and Western Groups of the archipelago.

The Joaquim Chaves Oncology opened a new Radiation Oncology Unit in the Santo Espírito Hospital, in Terceira Island, in Angra do Heroísmo.

The 7th Radiation Oncology Unit of the Group in the country strengthens its offering in Radiation Oncology and makes even more visible the constant care and proximity with the patient.

“This Unit will have a very positive impact in the Terceira Island population, who will be able to do the Radiation Oncology treatments without any need to move, and it is also another option for the population of the closest islands,” says Marisa Lobão, Radiation Oncology Clinical Director, Madalena Paiva Unit, Azores.

It is a quality gain in the support of the patients that allows them to undergo their external Radiation Oncology treatments in this Unit.
